How to set up CueCard on Apple Watch
Install it once, then open a script or a deck on your iPhone.

Install the watch app
Open the Watch app on your iPhone. Under Available Apps, tap Install next to CueCard. If your watch is paired and the app is missing, CueCard's Settings also shows Install on Apple Watch.

Use it as a teleprompter remote
Open a script in Teleprompter mode on your iPhone and press play. The watch shows the timer, with play, pause and back 10 seconds.

Read cards on the watch
Switch to Cards on your iPhone and tap Read Cards. The deck shows on the watch too; turning a card on either one moves both.

Keep a deck on the watch
Open a saved deck on the iPhone and choose Keep on Apple Watch from the ••• menu. It is then on the watch under On Watch, and works without your iPhone.

Set the text size
On the iPhone, tap the gear in Cards mode and choose Card Text Size under Apple Watch.

Keep it on screen
In the Watch app on your iPhone, go to General › Return to Clock › CueCard and set it to 1 hour.

Questions about Apple Watch
Is there a teleprompter app for Apple Watch?
CueCard's watch app controls the teleprompter on your iPhone: it shows the timer and plays, pauses and goes back ten seconds. The script itself is read on the iPhone or iPad; the watch is for cue cards, which are short enough to read on your wrist.
Can I read speech notes on my Apple Watch?
Yes. Write your notes as a deck in Cards mode, and they show on the watch one card at a time. Turn cards on the watch or the iPhone, and the two stay in step.
Does the watch app work without my iPhone?
For decks you keep on the watch, yes. Choose Keep on Apple Watch from the ••• menu on a saved deck, and you can read it on the watch with no iPhone nearby. The teleprompter remote needs the iPhone, because that is where the script is scrolling.
Which Apple Watch do I need?
One running watchOS 10 or later, paired with an iPhone running iOS 17 or later.
Why does my watch go back to the clock?
The watch returns to the clock after a while by default. In the Watch app on your iPhone, go to General › Return to Clock › CueCard and set it to 1 hour.
Do I need an account to use CueCard?
No. There is nothing to sign up for on either app, and your scripts and settings live on your device. The one exception is Google Slides sync on the desktop app, which asks you to sign in with Google so it can read the notes out of your deck. See the privacy policy for the details.
Is CueCard free?
Yes. CueCard is completely free on mobile and on desktop, and open source under the MIT licence. Read the code on GitHub — and a star is always welcome.
Is CueCard open source?
Yes, MIT licensed, on GitHub. An app that can see your script is one worth being able to read the source of.
Where are my scripts stored?
On your device. Your notes are not uploaded to us. The privacy policy sets out exactly what is and is not kept.
