At CueCard, we believe in transparency and respect for your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our application.

No Account Required

There is no sign-up required to use the app, on mobile or on desktop.

Information We Collect

We collect limited technical information to understand and improve CueCard:

• Product Analytics: We use Google Analytics and Firebase Analytics to collect pseudonymous usage data. This includes:
  • App opens and session duration
  • Feature usage (e.g., timer, settings changes)
  • Navigation patterns within the app
  • Platform information (iOS, iPadOS, Android, Windows, macOS)
  • Generated installation or client identifiers
• Crash Diagnostics: The mobile apps use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports, device and app state, and diagnostic identifiers that help us find and fix failures.

This data helps us understand how CueCard is used and prioritize improvements. Analytics events and crash reports do not include your personal data or scripts.

Information We Don't Collect

We want to be crystal clear about what stays on your device:

• Your Notes: Scripts, decks and saved versions are stored on your device and are not uploaded to CueCard. On iPhone and iPad, you can choose a notes folder in Files to keep the latest note files outside the app. If that folder is backed by a cloud service, its provider handles the files and their sync. Version history stays inside the app.
• Google Slides Tokens: Your authentication tokens are stored locally on your device. They are sent to Google's authentication and Slides services only when you use that optional feature.
• Presentation Content: Notes read from Google Slides are displayed and stored locally in the app.

Third-Party Services

CueCard integrates with the following third-party services:

• Google Sign-In & Slides: Signing in with Google is only needed for Google Slides sync on the desktop app. When you use that feature, you're also subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We only request the minimum permissions necessary to provide the functionality you need.
• Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics: We use these Google services for pseudonymous product analytics and mobile crash diagnostics. This information is processed according to Firebase's Privacy Policy.

Google User Data & Slides Access

• No Sharing or Transfer: We do not share, transfer, or disclose your Google user data with anyone.
• Limited Scope Access: We only request the presentations.readonly scope to read the notes from your Google Slides presentations. This is the minimum permission needed to provide the sync functionality.
• Local Token Storage: Your Google authentication token is stored locally and sent to Google only when needed for authentication or Slides access.

Data Retention

On iPhone and iPad, deleting the app removes its local notes and version history. Files kept in a chosen notes folder remain outside the app; choosing that folder after reinstalling brings the latest notes back. Deleting a saved note in CueCard also deletes its file from the notes folder.

With no CueCard account, there is no account information to retain. Analytics and diagnostic data is retained according to our Google Analytics and Firebase settings. If you wish to request deletion of information, please contact us at support@cuecard.dev.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of any inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information

Security

We take security seriously. Your local data is protected by your operating system's security features. Analytics and diagnostics are handled by Google under its published security and privacy practices.
